Colossians 1: 9,10 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

Have you ever run in to someone who is so negative about life that just being around him or her makes you feel down? They’re vocabulary sounds a bit like this, “Well, if it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” Or perhaps this, “Under the circumstances, I guess I’m doing ok.”  I’ve even heard people say, “If I was any sicker, I’d have to die to get better.”

If you’re one of these people, I encourage you to change your words. Renew your mind by studying what God has to say about you in his Word.

If you’re a born-again child of God, you have no business carelessly speaking negative words! First of all, they are against the written word of God. If Christ lives in you, He defeated Satan’s kingdom through His death at Calvary. He spoiled principalities and bound the strong man and made a show of them openly, triumphing over them. You have overcome through Jesus because He, the victorious one, lives in you!

Why would we want to live under, when we can overcome? Why would we want to claim defeat, when we are conquerors through Christ Jesus? We never have to live “under” the circumstances again simply by knowing who and what we are through Christ.

In every circumstance of our life, God has a word of encouragement. There is no circumstance in which Jesus has not already suffered. He knows our concerns and temptations. He took sickness, disease, wounds and above all, sin upon himself that He would be familiar with every aspect of our lives. Through it all, He was victorious and through Him, we can be too.

Learn the difference between fact and truth. These are two very different words. The fact may be that you have flu symptoms, but the truth is that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed. There is healing in your body provided by Jesus. Receive your healing in Jesus name! Amen.

Let the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart be acceptable unto God. Hebrews 4: 12 shows that God’s word is alive and sharper than any two-edged sword. It penetrates and divides the soul and spirit… in other words, it gets past the soul (mind) and goes to the heart (spirit) and judges the attitudes of the heart. Adjust our hearts and we’ll walk a more fulfilled life in Christ Jesus.

. “My mother often told me, if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.” She certainly had the right idea. She was saying that our words must line up with God’s. If His word says it, that settles it and I will confess His word, not mine.

What are we feeding our spirit? What we put into us is what comes out in times of trouble. If we feed on and meditate on negative thoughts, that’s what will come forth from our mouth. Let’s get out from under circumstances and walk in the light of the Word.
